Irene Tan, Co-owner of Brooklyn Northeast Wine & Spirits in Brooklyn, Connecticut, joined Dave Blanck, Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Connecticut, Blueprint Spirits Division, and a dozen guests on a tour of the Boston Harbor Distillery in July guided by founder Rhonda Kallman. Kallman, who also co-founded Sam Adams beer, led sales and management on a tour of the facility, which overlooks Boston Harbor in a renovated mill building from the mid-1800s. Boston Harbor Distillery spirits include Putnam New England Whiskey and Rye Whiskey, Lawley’s Small Batch Rum and Spirit of Boston, each a unique expression distilled from Samuel Adams beers, and Boston Harbor Liqueurs. Said Tan, “I went with no intention of buying a barrel of Putnam Rye, but the very first barrel – #56 – I tasted, I was blown away by the incredible flavor of this young rye whiskey. I fondly call it my Rambunctious Rye.”
