New Lodi, Napa Walley, wines come to Rhode Island via Atlantic Beverage Distributors from Peirano Estate Vineyards. Ninety-one-point-rated Peirano 2018 is a classic-style California Cabernet Sauvignon offering ample, concentrated black-fruit flavor, moderate tannins and balanced acidity. At 14.2% ABV, subtle baking spices and chocolate come out on the palate. Other estate-grown red wines from Peirano new to the state include The Immortal Zin Old Vine Zinfandel 2016 from more than 100-year-old vines; Illusion 2018, a red blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, Petite Sira and Cabernet Sauvignon; and The Other Red, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Syrah. Nestled between the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Lance Randolph, fourth-generation Peirano winemaker and grower, uses the best of his great-grandfather Giacomo Peirano’s farming methods and implements new techniques to create the best of “Old World Meets New World” viticulture practices. The collection also includes award-winning estate-grown white varietals, including Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and many more.
