Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort hosted its 11th annual holiday blackjack tournament on Dec. 6, an event that brings together various state representatives and participants in order to raise funds for nonprofit organizations throughout the state. Winners were: first place: Rep. Terri Cortvriend won $10,000 for the Norman Bird Sanctuary; second place: Frank Carpano won $7,500 for the Thomas E. Smith Foundation to support injured hockey player AJ Quetta; third place: Gov. Dan McKee, whose charity, Community Angels, will receive $5,000; fourth place: George Nee, AFL-CIO, whose charity, Support for Afghanistan Girls’ Education, will receive $3,500; fifth place: Marc Crisafulli, chairman of the RI Bally’s Advisory Board, whose charity, Frederick S. Crisafulli MD Memorial Scholarship Fund, will receive $2,500; and sixth place: Rep. Alex Finkelman, whose charity, Conanicut Island Sailing Foundation, will receive $1,500. A total of 36 Rhode Island-based charities received $60,000 from Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort.
