Bally’s Twin River Casino Resort in Lincoln hosted its Eighth Annual Holiday Charity Blackjack Tournament in which 36 players participated on behalf of their selected Rhode Island charity. All charities received a minimum of $1,000 with a total of $60,000 donated for the 2021 holiday season. To date, approximately $450,000 has been given to local charities from the festive holiday event since its inception. Scott Slater, $7,500 Second Place Winner playing for Providence Rescue Mission; Bob Billington, $10,000 First Place Winner playing for Blackstone Valley Heritage & Environmental Trust Fund; Senator Mary Ellen Goodwin, $1,500 Sixth Place Winner playing for Mary House Food Pantry & Shelter; Rep. Chris Blazejewski, $3,500 Fourth Place Winner playing for RI Community Food Bank and Rep. K. Joseph Shekarchi, Speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, $5,000 Third Place Winner playing for Go Fetch Rescue. Bally’s Twin River also donated $25,000 to The Tomorrow Fund, a Providence-based nonprofit organization that provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families.
