Best Wine of the World 2018 Competition’s Winners Announced

The “Best Wine of the World” 2018 competition results were announced on April 25 in Helsinki via tastingbook.com. The seven main categories included red wine, white wine, rosé wine, sparkling wine, fortified wine, Champagne and wine critic, among others, with 18,477 wines receiving a total 2,354,989 votes from 416,000 wine professionals and wine lovers from 116 countries during the three-month voting period, which concluded with two blind tasting finals. The Best Wine of the World 2018 was awarded to Masseto 2009, Tuscany, Italy. Other winners include Best White Wine of the World: Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 2010, Burgundy, France. Best Red Wine of the World: Masseto 2009. Best Champagne of the World: Dom Pérignon 2002, Champagne, France. Best Sparkling Wine of the World: Bründlmayer Brut Rosé.
