Murphy Distributors added four new Lowland Single Malt Scotch whiskies from the world’s oldest privately owned Scotch whisky distillery, Bladnoch Distillery, each made at its over 200-year-old home in Wigtown, Galloway: Bladnoch 11-Year-Old, Bladnoch Vinaya, Bladnoch Pure Scot and Bladnoch Pure Scot Virgin Oak. Located in the Scottish Lowlands, Bladnoch Distillery is the southernmost distillery in Scotland. Founded in 1817 by the McClelland brothers, Bladnoch is now one of the oldest independently owned distilleries in Scotland. Australian David Prior, who has had a life-long love of Scotch Whisky, acquired the distillery in 2015 with hopes to revive the historic estate, working with Master Distiller, Dr. Nick Savage. The pristine water from the Bladnoch River that flows alongside the distillery and Scottish barley are used to create the rich, flavorful whiskies that are non-chill filtered to ensure the truest flavors shine through.
- Bladnoch Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 11-Year-Old is matured in 100% bourbon casks for floral, honey characteristics.
- Matured in a unique combination of first fill bourbon and first fill Sherry casks, Vinaya, a Sanskrit word meaning respect and gratitude, pays homage to the original founders of the distillery.
- Bladnoch Pure Scot Blended Scotch Whisky is combined with whisky from Speyside, the Highlands and Islay to bring a crisp, smooth and contemporary taste to life.
- Bladnoch Pure Scot Virgin Oak is handcrafted and seamlessly finished in virgin American Oak casks at the distillery, creating a smooth texture with a long-lasting refreshing honey finish.
