
Thames River Wine & Spirits in New London hosted Bruichladdich Northeast Brand Ambassador Jason Cousins, who led a special tasting for 45 patrons from the surrounding area on December 20, 2017. Guests were able to taste through seven marques of the single malt whiskies of Islay, Scotland: Classic Laddie; Scottish Barley; Rock Island Islay Barley 2010, its newest vintage now available in the state; Black Art Edition 4, 1990; Port Charlotte Scottish Barley; Port Charlotte Islay Barley; Octomore Edition 7.1; and Octomore Edition 8.3, also newly available.

- Bruichladdich Islay Barley comes from Optic and Oxbridge barley grown by farmers across Islay. Aged in a combination of bourbon and French wine casks, it offers notes of lemon, apple and peach, along with a coastal character.
- Port Charlotte-Scottish Barley: Peated to a heavyweight 40ppm, Port Charlotte Scottish Barley is a cuvee crafted from casks hand-picked by Master Blender Jim McEwan.
- Port Charlotte Islay Barley offers a first in the island’s history, a heavily-peated (40 ppm) single malt that has been distilled using Islay-grown barley.
