Narragansett’s Coast Guard House and MS Walker of RI will host a tasting event featuring Cape Classics Wineries and Winemakers in its Anchor Room on May 4. Trade guests and accounts will have the opportunity to meet the following winemakers in attendance: Tania Careme, Winemaker, Terre Brulee; Lars Maack, Winemaker and Owner, Bayten; Dirk Van Zyl, Winemaker, Glenelly; Schalk-Willem, Cellar Master, Taaibosch; Philippe Colin, Winemaker and Owner, Topiary with partner Gwenaelle Bidault; Charles Williams, Cellar Master, De Toren; and Peter de Wet, Winemaker and Owner, Excelsior. Light fare prepared by the Coast Guard House culinary team will be served to pair with selections. Seating is limited – please RSVP to rievents@mswalker.com by May 1. Trade-only event.

Historic Bowen’s Wharf in downtown Newport will host the 32nd annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival, on Oct. 14-15, 2023. During the two-day event, guests will enjoy fresh seafood straight from local fishers and neighborhood restaurants and vendors, along with dishes from local restaurants, craft beer and signature cocktails, with the backdrop of an eclectic mix of music from local bands. Billed as one of the “10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast” by Coastal Living magazine, proceeds from festival bars benefited Oliver Hazard Perry, Rhode Island’s 200-foot official sailing education vessel.
