Mohegan Sun’s 9th annual Sun BrewFest weekend kicks it up another notch with a newly added Seltzer Social event in its Earth Ballroom on Friday, Oct. 7, prior to the Sun BrewFest on Oct. 8. Taking place in the casino’s Earth Ballroom, guests will mingle and enjoy fall inspired spirits, local bites, and some of the most popular hard seltzers on the market. More than 100 beers in a variety of styles will be available for guests to taste, including ale, lager, sour ale, stouts, pilsner, Belgian-style ale, IPAs and Seasonal IPAs, along with select seltzers, spirits and seasonal craft cocktails. Local restaurants will sell a variety of food offerings to pair with guests’ favorite brews, such as Southern inspired BBQ, traditional American, Italian, seasonal sweets and more. The Savage Brothers Band will perform live. Guests also have the option to register to compete in a Cornhole Tournament. Fans of fine wine and food can indulge their appetites for both during the 19th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest (SWFF) beginning Thursday, January 26th and lasting through Sunday, January 29th. Sun Wine & Food Fest is one of the largest and most popular wine festivals in the Northeast, treating guests to a vast selection of wines and no shortage of delicious food pairings. Across the four-day SWFF 2023 there are 14 total events, including the return of the Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around, and Vintage Cru. New events this year include the Pappy Van Winkle Tasting where guests can taste one of the most sought-after bourbons of Pappy Van Winkle with a special, infused Macanudo cigar inside the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar. The all-new event, Beam & Burgers, enters the mix this year as well, where Gotham Burger Social Club teams up with Beam Suntory Inc. serving mouthwatering burgers and top-shelf whiskey. Capping off the weekend will be Bloodys & Brunch with special guest Buddy Valastro. Proceeds benefit the Denise D’Ascenzo Foundation.
Black Hog Brewing Company will host its sixth-annual Barrel Aged Brewfest at its taproom in Oxford on January 18. Guests will enjoy 2 oz. pours of more than 50 exclusive barrel aged beers from Black Hog and guest breweries. Food will be provided by Square Peg Pizzeria. Event proceeds will benefit the Vie for Kids Foundation. Must be 21+ years of age or older to attend. No children, babies or pets permitted.
The Sun Tequila Tasting is back. The limes will be squeezed and the salt & sugar will be flowing to complement an array of tasty tequila and margarita samples at each mixology and pouring station. The Patrón one-of-a-kind blender bike is available to guests to mix up their very own margarita at an exclusive Patrón sponsored Happy Hour, which begins at 6:30pm, held on the Patrón Patio. Guests can indulge in savory Mexican fare provided by Hot Taco, capture memories at a photo booth and dance beats of DJ Rico and Fiesta Del Notre’s one of a kind Mariachi band. The 8th Annual Sun Whiskey Union will take place in Mohegan Sun’s Earth Ballroom on April 13. Enjoy live music by Locals Live 2023 finalist, The Rakes, with food from Bears Smokehouse and NoRA Cupcake Company.
