Cava’s Cocktails Celebrate the Spirit of The Big E

Southington’s Cava Restaurant ushered in the fall season with a Big E fair-themed cocktail tasting on Sept. 23. Guests enjoyed six half-size specialty craft cocktails inspired by fun times at the fair, including the Donut Kill My Vibe, a blend of New Amsterdam Lemon Vodka, apple cider and La Marca Prosecco with a cinnamon sugar donut hole garnish; the Hello Gourd-geous, Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, lemon juice, pumpkin puree and ginger beer; the Eye Candy, a blend of Camarena Silver Tequila, blue curaçao, lime juice and pineapple juice with a cotton candy garnish; the Thanks for Popping By, a mix of Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, butterscotch liqueur and orange juice topped with popcorn; the Cinnabon Fun cocktail, a blend of New Amsterdam Vodka, Kahlúa and RumChata with a mini Cinnabon cake pop garnish; and the Adult Oreo Shake, featuring RumHaven Coconut Rum, vanilla ice cream and milk topped with crushed Oreo cookies. Two separate tastings were held during the afternoon in Cava’s socially distanced tent, which accommodates guests under current state pandemic capacity guidelines.
