CDI’s Mixology Madness Competition Series Continues

The Mixology Madness cocktail competition series hosted by Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI) continued with three separate competitions in February. Bartenders competed at Hartford’s Republic at the Linden using Privateer Silver Reserve Rum as the featured spirit on February 6. Rob Martini of Restaurant Bricco won first place, while Dylan Jefferis of Little River Restoratives and Justin Morales of The Blind Pig tied for second place. All three advanced to a semifinal round on March 20 at Chango Rosa in Hartford. On February 20, bartenders competed at Glastonbury’s Rooftop 120 using Oxley Gin as the featured spirit. Stephanie Anderson took first place with the Naughty Rose, while Clarissa LoNero and The Butterfly and Jamie Oakes and Ox-a-gin Is A Drug took second and third respectively. On February 27, Rooster Company in Newington hosted the ongoing event, with Papa’s Pilar Blonde Rum as the featured spirit. The winners were Conrad Meurice, Chango Rosa; Bryce Hardy, The Olive Bar; and Rebecca Json-Toft, Artisan Restaurant. Following the semifinal competitions in March, the Mixology Madness series concludes with the round three Championship event on April 10 at The Blind Pig in Hartford, with Widow Jane Applewood Rye the featured spirit.
