
The Coast Guard House Restaurant in Narragansett hosted special guest Kristen Butke, New England Regional Manager, Wilson Daniels, for a wine dinner on February 21. Butke presented an evening of six Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards wines paired with a five-course dinner prepared by Chef Angel Cardona and his culinary team, who capture the culinary spirit of coastal New England by featuring locally harvested seafood, seasonal specials and fresh produce sourced from local farms. The featured California wines included 2016 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs, 2014 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs, 2016 Davies Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2015 J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and 2015 Schramsberg Crémant Demi-Sec. Schramsberg Vineyards is a winery located in Calistoga, CA, in the Napa Valley region. Founded in 1862, Schramsberg was acquired by Jack and Jamie Davies in 1965, who began producing the premium Champagne method wine. Today, Schramsberg is managed by Hugh Davies, the youngest son of Jack and Jamie Davies.

- Guests tasted 2016 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs, 2014 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs and 2015 Schramsberg Crémant Demi-Sec. The vineyard, which was founded in 1862 by the German immigrant Jacob Schram, produces a series of sparkling wines using the same method as Champagne.
- 2016 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine was paired with the first course, Fried Oyster Benedict.
- The second course, Scallop Coquilles Saint Jacques, was paired with 2014 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs.
- 2015 J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was paired with the meal’s fourth course, lamb chops.
