Connecticut DCP News: Delivery Extension for Fairfield County

May 2, 2024

From the Office of M. Caitlin S. Anderson

Liquor Control Division Director

RE: Fairfield County Delivery Extension for April 2024

In the early morning hours of May 2, 2024, a serious traffic accident occurred on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut.  This accident resulted in the closure of both lanes of Interstate 95 through the day. The closure of the highway and the resulting serious traffic delays have impacted the ability of wholesalers to deliver alcoholic beverages in Fairfield County.

The Department previously issued a delivery extension for alcoholic beverage products ordered in April 2024 until Friday, May 3, 2024.  As a result of the accident, the Department extends the deadline for deliveries in Fairfield County until Saturday, May 4, 2024.  This approval applies to all Connecticut wholesalers.  Please note that this approval pertains to extension of delivery only and not to the placing of orders.  All orders must have been placed by April 30, 2024.

If you have any questions regarding this extension or any liquor-related matter, please email us at dcp.liquorcontrol@ct.gov.

The Department of Consumer Protection, through the State Liquor Control Commission, oversees all sales of liquor in the State of Connecticut.  450 Columbus Boulevard, Suite 901, Hartford, CT, 06103. Visit the  Liquor Control Division website www.ct.gov/dcp.
