Connecticut-Owned Tequila Launches with CT’s Mancini – Northeast Beverage

By November 27, 2024Connecticut, Top News

Connecticut tequila aficionados Bob Potter and Cecilia Shea launched a line of additive-free tequila in Connecticut, c.o.jones., now in distribution with Mancini Beverage – Northeast Beverage of CT division. Limited to 6,000 bottles, the initial small-batch, artisanal c.o.jones Blanco release is newly available through Northeast. The brand will follow up with two limited-edition Reposados by the beginning of 2025. Potter, who opened the first tequila bar in Connecticut back in 1999 with the same name, wanted to educate and introduce people to good, quality tequilas. His quest, along with his partner, Shea, came full circle when the pair decided to craft an additive-free tequila at a reasonable price. “We’re very happy with our tequila, as we spent a lot of time in Mexico working on our flavor profile and product,” said Potter. “Being hands-on and involved from start to finish as sole owners is something we are very proud of.” The brand is supporting its launch and rollout with in-store and restaurant tasting events and can be contacted at cojonestequila@gmail.com to schedule tastings. “We take no shortcuts, using only 6½-year-old agaves, slow cooked, using deep well water,” said Potter. “Our tequila is open-air fermented and only produced certain times of the year. We are a true small-batch tequila.”
