As part of its Rhode Island launch, a team from Coors Whiskey Co. visited the state on Sept. 25 to meet with retailers about its recently launched brands of blended whiskeys available through Horizon Beverage Co.: Blue Run Spirits, Five Trail Blended American Whiskey and Barmen 1873 Bourbon. David Coors, Vice President, Full Strength Spirits, Molson Coors Beverage Co., met with East Greenwich’s The Savory Grape team as part of ongoing account education activities on the brands. Five Trail Flagship Blend is an intentionally blended American whiskey featuring a harmony of aged Colorado single-malt and three bourbons, proofed with Rocky Mountain water. Tasting notes call the blend complex and elegant, with flavors of wood sugar, vanilla and apple that intertwine with smoke, ginger and allspice for an easy-going, lingering finish. Barmen 1873 Bourbon is a 92-proof blend of straight bourbon whiskeys bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. Barmen 1873 is sweet on the front with notes of caramel, vanilla and grilled peach with a long, lingering spice finish on the end. Barmen 1873 is the first bourbon from Coors Whiskey Co. and is inspired by Founder David Coors’ great-great-grandfather, A. Coors, honoring the birthplace and the year in which he established his legacy.
