RE: Delivery Extension Approved for March, April, and June 2025

The Department received a written request filed by the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of Connecticut, Inc. (“WSWC”) requesting permission to deliver alcohol beverage products ordered in March 2025 through April 3, 2025; products ordered in April 2025 through May 2, 2025; and products ordered in June 2025 through July 3, 2025.

The Department reviewed this request, which highlights: (1) the nature of the calendar and (2) the anticipated high number of orders for each of these months. Specifically, March and June end on a Monday, making it difficult for wholesalers to complete deliveries on time.  Although April ends on a Wednesday, it is one of the two months that wholesalers normally discount popular brands.  Because retailers often place orders on these discounted products towards the end of the month, it is difficult for wholesalers to complete the increased deliveries by even a Wednesday.

Following review, the Department approves the request to extend delivery of products ordered in March 2025 through April 3, 2025; products ordered in April 2025 through May 2, 2025; and products ordered in June 2025 through July 3, 2025. This approval extends to all Connecticut wholesalers. Please note that this approval pertains to extension of deliveries only and not to the placing of orders. All orders must still be placed by March 31, April 30, and June 30, respectively.
