Pernod Ricard and Mancini Beverage – RIDC highlighted Del Maguey Mezcal during an event at Diego’s Barrio Cantina in Middletown on October 1. Misty Kalkofen, National Brand Ambassador for Del Maguey, led an education session and tasting of seven of Del Maguey’s mezcals. Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal was founded in 1995 by Artist Ron Cooper. The artisanal mezcals are produced the original handcrafted way from Zapotec Mexican Indian producers in the remote villages of Oaxaca. Every product in the collection is made by individual family palenqueros (producers) in old-style villages. And each product is credited after the village where it is made.
- The lineup of Del Maguey Mezcal varieties highlighted during the tasting event included Vida, Chichicapa, Minero, Santo Domingo Albarradas, San Luis del Rio, 100% Tobala and Wild Papalome.
