Diageo held its annual North American Military Service Appreciation Month kickoff, where employee volunteers from its Norwalk and New York City offices assembled care packages for members of the armed forces. A celebration on November 1 in Norwalk brought together volunteers and representatives from Diageo, Packages from Home and iPads for Soldiers, as well as Crown Royal’s Purple Bag Project, through the Diageo Salutes the Troops initiative. Guests of honor included Mayor Harry Rilling, City of Norwalk, who gave opening remarks, and U.S. military veterans from various community organizations. The combined efforts will yield 10,000 care packages for veterans and active duty troops deployed overseas.
