Dunkin’ Donuts, the official sponsor for Providence’s WaterFire Arts Center, hosted the Dunkin’ Shake Off on July 8 as part of its celebration gathering for franchise owners, friends, families and executives. Dunkin’ partnered with Lupe Aquilar of Rhody Foody and Boston-based Bully Boy Distillers for a cocktail showcase featuring local bartenders showcasing new Dunkin’ items and Bully Boy spirits. Bartenders gathered to create two signature cocktails, with one of the cocktails including one of Dunkin’s new summer drinks. For the second cocktail, the bartenders were able to feature any Dunkin’ menu item and any Bully Boy spirit. Competitors were Jesse Hedberg, Owner, Pizza Marvin; Art Chamberland, Owner, Lucky Enough; and Justin Silmon, Director, United States Bartenders’ Guild Providence Chapter, each of whom were awarded Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice and Best Presentation, respectively. The Bully Boy line includes Bully Boy American Straight Whiskey, Vodka, Estate Gin, The Rum Cooperative, Boston Rum and Amaro, all distributed in Rhode Island via Horizon Beverage – Origin division.
