Foolproof Brewing Company of Pawtucket hosted its fifth annual Barrel Reserve Night on December 8. The brewery offered 10 rare and barrel-aged specialty beer offerings for tasting during the evening, with some available for purchase in take-home bottles. One of the brews released for the night, Irish Soul, is a Russian Imperial Stout aged in Jameson Irish Whiskey barrels from the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Ireland. Guests enjoyed other limited-release brews, including Foolproof’s 5th Anniversary Barley Wine, Vanilla Espresso Raincloud Porter, SO(u)L Fermented Russian Imperial Stout, Whiskey Barrel-Aged Braggot and Pirate’s Dream Rum Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout.
