Fresh French Wines Join Allan S. Goodman

By May 2, 2022Connecticut, Top News

New French imports: Domaine Lorgeril l’Orangeraie Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Syrah.

Allan S. Goodman launched a line of fresh, fruit-driven, high-quality French imports from the Pays d’Oc appellation, which covers a broad region from the Pyrenees to the Bouches-du-Rhône. Made by Domaine Lorgeril l’Orangeraie, the wines come from terroir marked by a typically Mediterranean climate, with long, hot, dry summers and relatively mild winters, often swept by the dry winds blowing down to the foothills from the Massif Central. Now available are l’Orangeraie Sauvignon Blanc 100%, a crisp, refreshing wine with grapefruit, lemon zest and lychee aromas and an excellent balance between vinosity and acidity; l’Orangeraie Chardonnay, a 100% Chardonnay, with a powerful nose and grapefruit, pineapple and vanilla aromas with a hint of fresh hazelnuts for a very fresh, round and well-balanced wine; and l’Orangeraie Syrah, made with 85% Syrah and 15% Viognier grapes, offering a deep color.
