González Byass Announces New CEO Beginning 2023

The González Byass Board named industry veteran César Sánchez Moral as its incoming Chief Executive Officer, beginning in 2023, to succeed current CEO Jorge A. Grosse, who will end his term in December 2022. During his 16 years at González Byass, Grosse has led the strategic alliances and globalization of the company, which currently comprises 14 wineries in Spain, Chile and Mexico; three distilleries; as well as its distribution setups in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Mexico. Successor Sánchez Moral, who will join from CEO position at the Barón de Ley group, has also worked for beverage companies such as Heineken, Schweppes and Suntory. Grosse and Sánchez Moral will work together throughout 2022 on the leadership transition. The González Byass portfolio includes Tio Pepe Fino Sherry, Beronia Rioja, Viñedos Veramonte, Domäne Wachau, Presidente Mexican Brandy and El Recuerdo Mezcal, among brands.
