By January 25, 2022Connecticut, Top News

Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI) hosted a cocktail competition featuring Grey Goose Vodka on Dec. 9 at the Palace Theater in Waterbury. The fundraising event for The Palace brought together five bartending teams who showcased their talent for 200 guests, whose ticket purchase also benefited the theater. Mike Migaldi, Palace Theater created his Chocolate Martini; Bonnie Sharon and Nikki Rinaldi from Vyne Restaurant & Bar offered their Persimmons Passionfruit Martini; Kristi Martelli and Matt Gilbode of Marketplace Group created A Kiss of Pear-suasion; Meg Doback and Nick Gmuer from Viron Rondo Osteria created a Spiced Winter Fizz; and Nick Barberi and Nicole Andriaitias from Roma entered The Loose Goose. Most Creative Cocktail went to Martelli and Gilbode of Marketplace Group; Fan Favorite went to Migaldi from The Palace, earning it the 100 Year Signature Martini title; and Frank’s Favorite, chosen by Frank Tavera, Chief Executive Officer, Palace, was awarded to the Vyne team of Sharon and Rinaldi. Proceeds totaled more than $12,000 for the historic venue’s Palace Theater Annual Fund. Built in the early 1920s, the Palace Theater was the center of Waterbury, Connecticut’s active cultural scene prior to WWII and has been revitalized over time, remaining an active venue today. The event was organized by CDI’s Marissa Fonti, Bacardi Trade Development Manager.
