The Horizon Beverage Company of Rhode Island team wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as part of its efforts internally and in the community. The company participated in the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign by Purple Cowboy Wines and Wrangler to raise money for breast cancer charities and research. Begun by Purple Cowboy Wines founder and breast cancer survivor Terry Wheatley, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle of wine is donated. The wines are part of the Horizon Beverage portfolio. On October 18, Horizon Beverage hosted its annual charitable golf outing to benefit the Rhode Island Food Bank and the Christy Squittiere Genske Memorial Fund. Held at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown, Horizon staff, participating golfers and event sponsors collected approximately 1,232 pounds of food and raised $3,600 for donation to the food bank, with $18,000 raised for the memorial fund.
