Ilegal Mezcal was showcased during an industry night event for Bacardi team members at Diego’s Newport on Sept. 10. Trade professionals enjoyed mezcal tastes, cocktails crafted with llegal Mezcal Joven and Reposado expressions and accompanying cuisine at the evening gathering. Originating from Oaxaca, Mexico, Ilegal Mezcal is crafted from sustainably grown espadín agave. The mezcal is known for its balanced profile, characterized by a bold agave flavor with a subtle hint of smoke. It is produced in small batches by fourth-generation mezcaleros and its artisanal methods tout the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability, notably its use of 100% post-consumer recycled glass bottles amid a global glass shortage. Ilegal Mezcal is distributed in Rhode Island via Horizon Beverage Co. – Origin Beverage Co. division.
