Industry Professionals Gather for Advanced Tequila Education

A group of approximately 100 industry professionals gathered on August 15, 2017 for the “Award T” Certification course sponsored by the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT) and The Patrón Spirits Company. The all-encompassing course, which included discussions on the production, compliance standards, economics and history of tequila, was held at Water’s Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook. The “Award T” course was taught by CRT representative Florina Martinez, and was arranged by Patrón representatives JD Koons, Assistant Vice President, Northeast and Chris Spake, Director, Brand Education along with Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI) representatives Amanda Pekar, Portfolio Account Development Specialist, Patrón and Kelly Scofield, Business Manager, to promote ongoing industry education in the Connecticut market. Connecticut Roca Patrón Brand Ambassador and Bartender Anthony DeSerio assisted with the event. The course culminated with the certification test, Patrón product tasting and a Patrón-sponsored hour where local bartenders displayed their unique use of the Roca Patrón tequilas.
