In light of the crisis in Israel, the Israel Wine Producers Association (IWPA) launched a campaign urging people to Sip for Solidarity, donating 10% of sales to relief efforts in Israel. The world of wine in Israel, among the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, rallied in response to the events of Oct. 7, 2023. To raise awareness in support of Israel and Israeli wineries, the IWPA, a trade organization promoting Israeli wineries through wine education and events, said, “The massacre has had an immediate, concrete impact, particularly on picking, sorting and winemaking teams. Harvest had begun shortly before the attacks, which meant that the sorting, crushing and fermentation processes were, in many cases, done under the constant threat of attack and bombardment.” There are more than 400 wine brands produced in Israel, and most are available in the U.S. at major wine retailers and online. Ten percent of every case shipped from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2023, will be donated to Israeli relief efforts.
