King Estate Virtual Seminar Showcases Oregon Wines

By June 3, 2021Connecticut, Top News

Readying for Oregon Wine Month in May, Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), hosted a virtual tasting and education seminar featuring the wines of King Estate. The CDI team was joined by Owner and National Sales Manager Justin King, the third generation of the King family to manage the vineyards; Chief Operating Officer and Head Winemaker Brent Stone; and Northeast Region Manager Jeff Brooks. The education took the team through the King Estate vineyard, which was officially certified the largest Biodynamic® vineyard in the USA by Demeter, tasting the Willamette Valley AVA Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Stone described the winemaking techniques that help differentiate King Estate in the market, presenting some new items coming soon to Connecticut: King Estate Brut Cuvée, the first sparkling wine from the King Estate in eight vintages, and a new Oregon Chardonnay. Also tasted were its Inscription 100% Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and The Soldier Cabernet Sauvignon, among other items presented. “We enjoyed meeting and tasting with our friends at CDI and bringing everyone up to date on what is happening here at King Estate. This year will be our 30th anniversary harvest, and after a challenging 2020 for so many different reasons, for all of us, we look forward to what the future holds. We have just released our 2019 King Estate Pinot Gris, which comes to market with a 92-point Editor’s Choice score from Wine Enthusiast, and we will soon start shipping our 2018 King Estate Pinot Noir, which has a 91-point score. We have other new projects which we are excited about and we were able to discuss them with the CDI team. It was great to reconnect with our friends in Connecticut.”
