As Connecticut’s Litchfield Distillery celebrates 10 years of operating, brothers and Co-founders David, Jack and Peter Baker announced the limited release of a special 7-Year-Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey under the distillery’s Founders’ Reserve appellation. All bottles are hand-signed by each Baker brother. Tasting notes state that aging “for seven years led to a fair amount of angel’s share, creating a lush and full-bodied bourbon whiskey. You’ll experience notes of sweet butterscotch, vanilla with a hint of apple on the nose. The palate is a touch spicy with continued butterscotch notes, cinnamon and toasted baking spice. The finish is long and smooth, with a subtle presence of black pepper.” Distilled from Connecticut-grown grains—70% corn, 25% rye and 5% malted barley—and bottled at 100 proof, the anniversary edition is packaged in a branded wood gift box with a 750-ml bottle, a 10th-anniversary Glencairn glass and a note card. All Litchfield Distillery spirits are available across the state via Slocum & Sons.
