Main Street Grill, 663 Main St. Watertown, Conn.

The “new American” restaurant has a focus on local foods, eclectic wines and an innovative craft cocktail program. A “twist on the classics menu” takes advantage of local farm products from Careyshire Farm, Fifth Season Farm, an organic garlic grower and others.

Owner: John Bourdeau

Drink Name: Maple Farm

Recipe:
1.5 oz Viscaya rum

¾ oz fresh lime juice

¾ oz. dark amber pure real maple syrup

2 dashes of Fee Brothers black walnut bitters

Shake. Serve up in martini glass. Garnish with nutmeg “for a fall flavor.”

“It’s a warming, fall flavor,” said Bourdeau. “Between the walnuts and nutmeg, you barely taste the rum. It’s a brown sugar flavor, but not too sweet. It tastes like a maple daiquiri.”
