Horizon Beverage Co. of Rhode Island hosted a Maison Albert Bichot pre-sell trade tasting event at Coast Guard House in Narragansett on April 7. Guests enjoyed learning about the winery and its Burgundy selections. The Bichot family has been established in Burgundy since 1350. In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded his own wine company in Monthélie, south of Beaune. At the end of the 19th century, his grandson Albert Bichot established the operations in Beaune, a family-owned tradition that continues today. Albéric Bichot, who has run the wine company since 1996, is the 6th generation of the family, with six exceptional domaines with the finest Burgundy terroirs, in Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise and the Beaujolais, totaling 100 hectares. Wines showcased at the event included a range of Burgundian offerings.
