Mancini Beverage Hosts Annual Memorial Golf Tournament

The Al Zannella Memorial Golf Tournament was hosted by the Zannella family at the Potowomut Golf Club in East Greenwich on July 24, now in its third year. Held in memory of Al “Z” Zannella, former Executive Vice President of Mancini Beverage who passed away in 2020, trade guests, family and friends turned out to play an afternoon of golf, followed by a cocktail hour and dinner in the club’s Main Ballroom and Members’ Grill in what has become an annual celebration of his legacy and impact in the business and on the community. Guests enjoyed cocktails featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka, including The Transfusion, American Mule, B.L.T., The Sand Trap, and Dobel Paloma and Loyal 9 Cocktails. Other featured beverage brands included Ketel One Vodka, Don Julio Tequila, Maestro Dobel Tequila, Tommy Bahama No. 2 Rum and Vita Coco Spiked with Captain Morgan. The event was sponsored by Mancini Beverage, Martignetti Companies, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Diageo, Geaber’s Liquors and Kingstown Liquor Mart. Joanne Zannella, who, as Al’s wife and partner, said it was important to recognize and remember his broad reach and support to so many in the industry. Zanella said, “I want to thank the Mancini family, Mancini Beverage and all involved for their gracious support of the event. This in an incredible industry and I love it. For 44 years, I worked alongside Al and this brings us all together to keep his name going and continue to give back as much as he gave.” Proceeds benefiting the RI Hospitality Association and the RI Hospitality Education Foundation’s Zannella Memorial Scholarship are awarded to Rhode Islanders pursuing education toward a career in the food service, lodging or tourism industries.
