Block Island Race Week XXVIII took place June 23-28. The regatta, hosted biennially by the Storm Trysail Club, hosted approximately 122 boats competing. Mount Gay Race Day showcased a rum tent party thrown for guests and sailors, with cocktails and merchandise highlighting the iconic Barbados rum brand. Legendary musician Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance at the final awards party while representing his lifestyle brand, Margaritaville, which sponsors the event. Skipper Kevin McNeil and his team aboard Seabiscuit had captured the race win and were feted under the Mount Gay party tent.
