Narragansett Beer, in collaboration with the Rhode Island Pink Boots Society, released a beer in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, which also timed with Rhode Island Craft Beer Week, as part of larger efforts to recognize equity issues in the craft beer industry and raise the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry. The new beer, Narragansett Brewing Company Double Pockets DIPA, was brewed by the women who work for the Providence-based brewery, led by Head Brewer Lee Lord. The limited-release beer is brewed from Mosaic, Centennial and Ekuanot hops, resulting in tropical and citrus flavors. The beer is available in 16 oz. can 4-packs while supplies last.
