By February 27, 2022Connecticut, Top News

Available now in Connecticut are Casa Lumbre Group selections, producers of premium, farm-to-bottle Mexican spirits with unique sensorial qualities with a strong focus on place of origin, sustainability and original method of production whose brands include Ancho Reyes Liqueur and Montelobos Mezcal. The lineup additions are Abasolo Whiskey, crafted and distilled from 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle corn, cultivated and passed down for more than 200 generations by local farmers for its distinct, extraordinary flavor; Nixta Licor de Elote, a Mexican corn liqueur that provides rich, wide-ranging flavor versatility in drinks from a base of tender, ancestral corn maize; Ojo de Tigre Mezcal, a collaboration with renowned Mexican actor and producer Luis Gerardo, crafted from Oaxacan Agave Espadín and sustainable Agave Tobalá from Puebla; and Community Spirit Vodka, clean and character-filled vodka developed by the award-winning Casa Lumbre Innovation Team led by Iván Saldana and Lupita Garcia. New from across the pond comes East London Liquor Company’s Gin and Vodka offerings. Located among the canals and warehouses of Bow and Victoria Park, the distillery crafts its spirits to reflect honesty, grit, hard work and the fight for transparency in ingredients, labeling and price point. Its London Dry Gin combines notes of citrus and juniper, ending in a bold, spicy finish with juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, cardamom, cubeb berries, lemon and pink grapefruit peel among botanicals. East London Vodka is smooth and creamy in taste and bold in spirit, made from 100% British wheat. All are distributed across the state via Slocum & Sons.
