Multiple beverage brands collaborated with Newport Live Events to host a holiday fundraising dinner to benefit the Friends of Newport Skatepark at Newport’s The Lobster Bar on Dec. 14. Sponsored by Litchfield Distillery, Narragansett Beer and Papa’s Pilar Rum, guests enjoyed three dishes prepared by local guest chefs paired with three cocktails featuring Litchfield Distillery spirits and Papa’s Pilar Rum made by local bartenders. Proceeds raised benefited the Friends of Newport Skatepark, a group working to raise funds to build Newport Skatepark, which will be located on a 20,000-square-foot area of land at the corner of JT Connell Highway and John Chafee Boulevard. As of mid-December, the Friends of Newport Skatepark had raised $890,000 toward its $1 million goal to begin building, with plans to break ground on the skatepark in the spring.
