New Haven’s Oak Haven Table & Bar hosted a whiskey pairing dinner featuring rare bourbons on Nov. 4, part of its continued autumn edition where five whiskies join a “menu composed of Connecticut farm vegetables and proteins.” Guests enjoyed a five-course meal with dishes prepared by the Oak Haven Table & Bar kitchen team, beginning with Buffalo Trace Distillery Kosher Rye Recipe Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey paired with French onion soup. The second course consisted of Buffalo Trace Distillery Kosher Wheat Recipe Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey paired with crostini. Maker’s Mark 46 Cask Strength was paired with pistachio-encrusted leg of lamb for the third course, followed by Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2020 Limited Release with pork tenderloin for the fourth course. Joseph Magnus Bourbon was paired with a house-made molten lava cake for dessert.
