Representatives from Palm Bay International and Enjoy Group volunteered in Branford’s fifth annual Wreaths Across America event on Dec. 16. Starting with a ceremony at Branford’s St. Agnes Cemetery featuring the Stony Creek Fife & Drum Corps and the Fire Department Color Guard, local volunteers, including representatives from Coastal Wines, Amity Wine & Spirits in Hamden and New Haven, Classic Liquors in New Milford and Town Line Fine Wine Spirits & Beer in Stratford, met to place holiday wreaths on the graves of veterans in cemeteries across Branford and at New Haven’s Westville Cemetery, New Milford’s Center Cemetery and Bridgeport’s Mountain Grove Cemetery. Through the effort, 41 wreaths were laid to honor veterans in Connecticut and 85 in Massachusetts through the donation from Palm Bay International. More than 2 million people across the country participated in the national event, whose mission is to honor veterans and remember fallen soldiers while teaching youth the value of military service. Through the National Wreaths Across America Day initiative, 3 million veterans’ wreaths are sponsored and placed at more than 4,225 participating locations across the country.
