Waterbury cocktail haven Highland Brass Co. showcased Connecticut brand Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon during it summer-themed patio party on June 9. The bar team created its own unique cocktails, plus Up n’ Down’s signature Night Rider. The only rock and bourbon in distribution in the United States, Up n’ Down uses honey, figs, bark, orange zest, bitters and rock candy to create its unique flavor profile and has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley malt, making it an official Rock and Bourbon. The brand celebrated its one-year anniversary in June 2022. Up n’ Down has two additional expressions, Pumpkin Mash and Colonel’s Cut 118-Proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The brand, founded by Connecticut bar professional Justin Morales, is distributed by Brescome Barton. Creative confectionery treats from Morticia’s Custom Cakes of Southbury complemented the Rock and Bourbon tastes throughout the night.
