Patrón Annouces Search For Margarita of the Year

Patrón Spirits Company announced on February 22, National Margarita Day, its global search for Patrón Tequila’s “Margarita of the Year.” Seven bartenders from around the world recently gathered at the Hacienda Patrón distillery to create their own “interpretations of a perfect margarita.”

Sophie Bratt of London created “English Garden Margarita” with green peas and earl grey tea; Hemant Pathak of New York City created “Mumbai Margarita” with mango and Indian spices; Alexander Kady of Denver mixed “Tropicante Margarita,” combining mango and fresh avocado; Riesler Morales of Mexico City created “Coralina Margarita,” with red wine and hibiscus; Portland, Oregon’s Mindy Kucan mixed “Tiki Rita” with grapefruit and tiki spices; Max Greco from Sydney, Australia created “Pacific Rim Margarita” featuring coconut and jalapeno; and lastly, Atlanta, Georgia’s Shaun Gordon created “High Plains Margarita” with charred pineapple and sage.

The cocktails were unveiled during National Margarita Day events in New York, Sydney and Mexico City and consumers are able to vote once daily through April 9 for their favorite concoction by visiting MargaritaOfTheYear.com.
