
Chef Derek Wagner, Owner of Nick’s on Broadway in Providence, General Manager Elizabeth Sawtelle, also of Nick’s, and Ian Magiros, Sommelier and On-Premise Key Account Specialist of MS Walker, collaborated for the seventh year offering a New Year’s Eve wine pairing dinner. Guests enjoyed a seven-course tasting and pairing menu built around numerous imported offerings from Frederick Wildman & Sons, including JJ Vincent by Château Fuissé Crémant de Bourgogne NV, Marchesi di Barolo Roero Arneis 2014, Hecht & Banier Rosé 2016, Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-Montrachet 2014, Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Premier Cru “La Framboisière” Monopole 2014, Le Chiuse Brunello di Montalcino 2008, Churchill Vintage Port 2011 and Marchesi di Barolo “Zagara” Moscato d’Asti 2015. Sawtelle also created a specialty cocktail menu for the night featuring Pig’s Nose Scotch, Edinburg Gin and other Spencerfield Spirits. Guests then rang in the New Year with Wagner opening a Salmanazar (9L) of Pol Roger at midnight.
