Bartender Greg Mayer of The Dorrance won the regional Woodford Reserve Cocktail Competition hosted by Brown-Forman on February 29 at Bravo Brasserie in Providence. Mayer’s winning cocktail was called “Concrete Campground,” which featured Woodford Reserve Double Oak Whiskey, Cocchi Di Torino, Port Wine, Averna and Xcolate Mole Bitters, served in a glass smoked with Cherrywood. In March, Mayer will travel to the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky for an immersive educational experience. The distillery representatives will choose the six finalists to compete in the National Woodford Reserve Competition in April in New York City during that trip.
