
RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) hosted a Board of Directors meeting on June 5 at The Capital Grille in Providence. Among other agenda items, the meeting focused on RIHA’s STREAM campaign: an initiative that highlights the industry’s reliance on “STREAM” skills — Science, Technology, Reading and wRiting, Engineering, Arts and Math. Industry jobs that include STREAM skills are broken out as follows. Science: Bakers, Nutritionists, Bartenders, Department of Health Inspectors, Maintenance Personnel. Technology: Web Designers, A/V Specialists, App Developers, Cyber Security Experts, Payroll Processors. Reading/Writing: Human Resource Personnel, Lawyers, Training & Development Coaches, Data Analysts. Engineering: Architects, HVAC Technicians, Electricians, Plumbers, Mechanical Engineers. Arts: Culinary Management, Photographers/Videographers, Interior Designers, Musicians. Math: Accountants, Buyers, Data Analysts, Bartenders, Pastry Chefs, Payroll Specialists, Sales Managers.
