
The United States Bartenders Guild Connecticut Chapter (USBG CT) held an Iron Bartending cocktail competition at Bodegas Taco Bar in Fairfield on November 7, 2014. Connecticut Distributors, Inc., (CDI) provided ingredients from the Roca Patrón Tequila line. Ten USBG CT members and local bartenders, Joshua Pekar and Justine Bassani, Jonathan Rodriguez and Carl Summa, Jason Arias and Jaime Huaman, Jeff Marron and Adam Patrick, and Dimitrios Zahariadis and Sean Nye, were paired up for competition in front of a packed house.

- First Place was Josh Pekar of Valencia Luncheria and Justine Bassani of Paloma with the winning cocktail, “Rock the Goat,” made with Roca Patrón Reposado, lime and apricot goat cheese syrup; with Amanda Pekar, Patrón Portfolio Manager, Connecticut Distributors, Inc.

- Second place team was Jasson Arias and Jaime Huaman, also from Paloma, with “The Rosita,” using Roca Patrón Reposado, egg whites, fresh rosemary, Patrón Citronge lime and fresh lime juice.

- Third place team was Carl Summa and Jonathan Rodriguez, with the “No Contract,” made with Roca Patrón Reposado, grapefruit cordial, lime juice and mint leaves.
