The wines of Tuscany’s Il Borro were highlighted during a virtual wine tasting hosted by The Savory Grape on June 17. The Tuscan Treasures event featured guests Salvatore Ferragamo, whose family owns the Il Borro estate in Tuscany, along with Chiari Fedi, Wine Manager, East Coast for Il Borro. Guests were led through a tasting of Il Borro Lamelle Chardonnay, Il Borro Pian di Nova Tuscan blend, Il Borro Polissena Sangiovese and Il Borro Toscana. Located in the historic Valdarno di Sopra DOC appellation in central Tuscany, the Il Borro estate is home to one of the oldest wine cellars in Italy and the site of where the first Chianti wine was ever produced. The Il Borro estate employs bio-sustainable farming methods to grow its grapes, using natural fertilizers, no pesticides and renewable energy practices and is considered a carbon-neutral estate. The wines are distributed in the state by MS Walker.
