Ocean House in Watch Hill hosted a Zoom education and tasting session with Spain’s Segura Viudas. Its Cava Brut Reserva Heredad is served as the house sparkling wine for Ocean House’s Sunday brunches and as its signature welcome for overnight hotel guests. Jonathan Feiler, Sommelier and Wine Director, Ocean House Management, was joined by Gloria Collell, Head Winemaker, and Miquel Salarich, Winemaker, from Segura Viudas in Penedès, Spain. Calling from the Segura Viudas Estate, La Heredad, in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia – which dates back to the 11th century, in the middle of the Reconquista period – the team spoke of balancing innovation and tradition from the land and location that goes back more than 2,000 years. Featured wines, all served at Ocean House, included Segura Viudas Rosé, Segura Viudas Rosé Cava and Segura Viudas Cava Brut Reserva Heredad.
