The Weekapaug Inn in Westerly hosted an outdoor Brewmaster’s Dinner featuring Vermont’s von Trapp beer on July 30, along with the distributor team from McLaughlin & Moran, Inc., and von Trapp Brewing. Sam von Trapp, Owner of von Trapp Brewing in Stowe, Vermont, joined via a large outdoor video screen to address guests. The son of Johannes von Trapp, the youngest boy in the Trapp Family Singers, Sam discussed the history of his famous family, who inspired the classic film “The Sound of Music,” as well as the history and method of Austrian brewing techniques for the namesake beer line. Guests enjoyed von Trapp Golden Helles Lager, Bohemian Pilsner, Vienna Style Lager and Dunkel Lager, each paired with a creative German-inspired dish during the multicourse meal.
