The 17th annual Taste of Westport event was hosted on May 9 at the Inn at Longshore. The event benefits local nonprofit CLASP and its mission of providing a lifetime of care and inspiration to adults with autism and developmental disabilities throughout Fairfield County. The best of the local restaurant scene gathered with guests for a sampling showcase of food and drinks from approximately 30 businesses, plus a silent auction and live music from the Bar Car Band. Local distilleries provided samples of Connecticut-made spirits, including Bridgeport’s Fifth State Distillery and Norwalk’s SoNo 1420 American Craft Distillers, with Westport retailer Black Bear Wines & Spirits pouring for guests as well. With 100% of funds raised directly supporting CLASP programs and its residents, the event has raised more than $1 million since 2004.
