Connecticut-based Up n’ Down Pumpkin Mash sports a new label in time for the 2022 fall season. First debuting in September 2021, Up n’ Down Pumpkin Mash is made with high rye straight bourbon, real pumpkin, clove, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and finished with maple. Its label art is created by local tattoo master Joe Capobianco. Pumpkin Mash is bottled at 42% ABV/84 proof, so the bourbon “still shines,” said owner Justin Morales, the Connecticut-based, award-winning bartender and hospitality veteran who launched the Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon brand in the spring of 2021. “Up n’ Down Pumpkin Mash is delicious over rocks as a pumpkin old fashioned, in coffee or even a fall sangria,” he continued. Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon and Up n’ Down Pumpkin Mash are made in East Hartford at Central CT Distillers LLC and distributed by Brescome Barton. Morales, whose company operates under the name Sugar Skull Spirits, offers the only rock and bourbon in distribution in the United States. Up n’ Down uses honey, figs, bark, orange zest, bitters and rock candy to create its unique flavor profile and has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley malt, making it an official rock and bourbon.
