Teams from Votto Vines celebrated Bouvery CV Chocolate Liqueur’s 19th batch, a Connecticut-made artisanal small-batch chocolate liqueur, during a taste and tour at Westford Hill Distillers on Oct. 20. First dreamed up in London in 1999 by Founder Danny Bouvery, Bouvery CV’s creation spans countries to launch the namesake chocolate liqueur from his proprietary recipe. Since 2017, he has worked with Lou and Margaret Chatey at their award-winning and historic Westford Hill farm and facility, family-owned since 1919. Bouvery CV uses Westford Hill locally produced Connecticut corn vodka blended with cacao sourced from South America and West Africa with the Rainforest Alliance, fair trade and UTZ certifications and natural flavors to create a rich dark chocolate taste in an artisanal liqueur offering that is gluten-free and low-fat. Votto Vines now distributes Bouvery CV across the state. In time for the holidays, Bouvery CV also collaborated with Knipschildt Chocolatier for a second year, offering bonbons that highlight the luxurious chocolate espresso martini blend for a limited-edition chocolate ganache. Bouvery partnered with Denmark-born and U.S.-based chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt in Norwalk, Connecticut, who fuses old European craftsmanship, avant-garde flavor combinations and natural ingredients, which is sold directly to consumers and select specialty food retailers.
